Warning – Malware “SUNBURST”

The company SolarWinds was the victim of a highly sophisticated cyberattack. A malicious actor implanted a vulnerability (known as “SUNBURST”) in the SolarWinds Orion software. “SUNBURST” was potentially distributed along with a limited number of Solarwinds Orion software updates. These updates were potentially leveraged to deliver a backdoor to affected SolarWinds customers on a large scale. The CSSF advises the entities under its supervision to evaluate if they are affected by the vulnerability and, if applicable, remediate the associated risk.
