ESMA publishes translations of its Guidelines on funds’ names using ESG or sustainability-related terms

This communiqué is a follow-up to the CSSF communiqué published on 15 May 2024 announcing the publication by ESMA of its Final Report on Guidelines on funds’ names using ESG or sustainability-related terms (the “Guidelines”).

The CSSF hereby informs market participants that the translations of the Guidelines in all EU official languages have been published on ESMA’s website today, 21 August 2024.

The CSSF reminds market participants that the Guidelines will start applying three months after ESMA’s publication date, i.e. on 21 November 2024 (with a further six-month transition period for existing funds). As a consequence, the Guidelines will apply as from 21 November 2024 to new funds and as from 21 May 2025 to existing funds.
